Local Gardening
One of us on the büji team is nose deep into Barbara Kingsolver’s latest book Animal, Vegetable Mineral. Part memoir, part journalistic investigation, the book chronicles her family’s attempts to eat locally produced food for one year. 
 
Kingsolver and family have a 40-acre farmette in Virginia where they raise most of their own produce and poultry. No word on poison ivy (at least not as of page 300) but we can’t imagine much of the countryside is without it. The zucchini, however, is clearly prodigious.
